Meet the Mentors
Kavita Arvind specialises in Design Thinking, Design Sprints, Design Research, Illustration, Visual Storytelling & Design Education. She has 20 years of experience in Design practice and education. She has worked with a range of issues from healthcare technology, education, gender equity, to caste and inclusion.
Under the banner of ‘Chidiya Udd’, she creates and teaches art. She works closely with writers, graphic designers and publishers for children’s literature. An area of focus is gender and social communication, working towards the empowerment of women and marginalised communities. She is a published author and has worked with Penguin, Little Latitude, Unnati, Mahila Samakhya and Timbuktoo Publishers.
Prakash Moorthy did his Masters in Art at the M.S University of Baroda and in Animation Film Design at the National Institute of Design.
Moorthy did Production Design of “Raison de Cuer”, a Swiss film directed by Markus Imhoof and of “Vanaprastham”, directed by Shaji N Karun, for which he won the award for Best Art Direction at Dubai Film Festival.
Moorthy’s book “Animating an Indian Story” was published by the NID Press. He has contributed short stories to “Between the earth and the sky” an anthology of stories for Penguin books. Read more
Tarun is a design educator and graphic designer currently teaching graphic design at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, India’s premier design institute. He has over 24 years of experience in design education, and professional design practice. Though his expertise goes beyond the realms of traditional graphic design, he has a loving bias for print, typography and publication design.
Tarun is the co-founder of @35daysofgurmukhi on instagram. He has served as a juror in several international and national competitions including Poster for Tomorrow, Campus Diaries 25 under 25 Talent Hunt and Typography Day. Read more
